In order to minimize the risk to New Yorkers of being exposed to COVID-19, Governor Cuomo has signed an Executive Order allowing all New Yorkers to vote by mail in the June 23 primary. All are able to vote EITHER by absentee ballot OR in person on June 23.
1. The Board of Elections will mail absentee ballot request forms will to all registered voters in New York state who have an election on June 23, including all District 16 registered Democrats.
2. Fill in your info, and be sure to indicate “temporary illness” in question 1. Even if you aren’t sick, the Governor’s order expanded the definition of temporary illness to include the risk of contracting the coronavirus.
3. Mail the completed form to your Board of Elections by June 16, but the sooner the better.
4. The Board of Elections will mail you a ballot once they receive your filled out absentee ballot request form.
Should you need any assistance with this process, please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. My team is working hard to ensure that all are able to vote and we will provide assistance to anyone who needs it.
I look forward to implementing solutions to the challenging issues facing District 16 and our country that have been ignored for too long. None of us is aware of what a post COVID-19 world looks like, but I know that we can get there together.
